About Me

Hi! I'm Shannon. A young professional who's always yearned to permanently escape the rolling hills and corn fields of the midwest. As I've gotten older, I've realized there are some benefits to the familiarity of this so-called "boring" home base - i.e. more excuses to travel!

Having grown up with dual citizenship between the U.S. and Europe I've learned a thing or two about planning a trip. I've realized that this is a privilege that not everyone has, which led me to build Unmarked Getaway. 

 

Social media has glamorized travel to a point of intimidation where it sometimes feels like only influencers, remote workers, and the rich have the opportunity to do it. My goal with Unmarked Getaway is to share my tips and experiences to hopefully take some of the anxiety and intimidation out of the planning experience so we "average" citizens can explore as well!
